The fields, the mountains visible in the distance, the ocean viewed in the West and the pastoral serenity are not the only factors that turned the Ness Amim hotel into a place so special in my eyes. Not even the lawns, the narrow, winding pathways leading to forgotten charming corners, shaded and shielded by a thick blanket of leaves; or the many trees and birds song heard from every corner. Nor the hotel’s 48 wood-paneled rooms, with their parquet covered floors conveying European style convenience;
Indeed, Ness Amim is one of the most unique hotels in Israel due to all the above as well, however, the reason is mainly related to the unique nature of this exceptional community and the team maintaining the hotel, consisting entirely of volunteers from different countries. These constitute an important layer in the international community that was established here by the Dutch a few decades ago, as a token of friendship and love, and is still considered an exceptional phenomenon in Israel.
In this modest hotel guests will not encounter an entertainment team encouraging guests to dance aided by powerful pool-side speakers. The pool facility is designed for swimming and relaxed repose on the shaded lawn. Much in the same way that the extensive gardens surrounding the dining room and the main lobby are designed for idle strolling, with the primary intention of resting and recharging one’s batteries. The extensive gardens conceal many “surprises” such as a place of worship built in an architectural style appealing to the three major religions and the visitors’ center where guests can see the original buss that served as residence to the Dutch founder Fylon and his wife, who were the settlers who founded Ness Amim.
The two-story accommodations are comfortable and functional. They are clean and equipped with standard amenities to make your stay comfortable. There are also some kibbutz-style apartments that are suitable for families.
The dining room is spacious and pleasant looking, serving a surprising variety of dishes; we especially enjoyed the Friday night dinner and the rustic-natured breakfasts.
Due to the additional facilities it offers, the hotel is also ideal for different group activities, team-forging and vocational-training days. Entertainment shows and concerts are also held in the place.
