In the Yanuh-Jat village located at an amazing viewpoint overlooking the scenery of the Western Galilee and the Mediterranean Sea, and situated on the road between Kfar Vradim and Kalil, with an introduction to your hosts, their personal story and the story of the Druze community.
The rural accommodation rooms are located on the first floor of the hosts’ three floor home and from the balcony there is a breathtaking and never-ending view. The four units are suitable for four couples and up to six children and are actually an apartment with a shared living room. The kitchen is also shared and it is accessorized with a microwave, a hot plate, a large refrigerator and a coffee and tea corner.
Don’t expect pomp and circumstance, the rooms are very simple on the edge of modesty, the television transmits from a satellite installed on the roof of the house, there are no pampering items, no pampering accessories and the furnishings and the design is in the Middle Eastern style.
The main indulgence here is provided by the hosts’ generosity who receive each and every guest, invite them as soon as they arrive to their private home on the second floor and there, over a cup of tea or coffee, with Druze cakes and cookies, they introduce themselves to the guests and tell them about themselves, about their lifestyle and the Druze lifestyle. Anat who was given her Hebrew name in the name of a daughter of a work colleague of her father and Nasser who received his name following the victory (Nasser – means victory in Arabic) in the Six Days War in which his father fought on the southern front, are available for the guests 24 hours a day for any request or whim.
On the third floor of the house, surrounded by windows overlooking the view, there is a large kitchen with a taboon (bread oven), a dining room with table and chairs. Here the guests eat the Druze breakfasts that Anat prepares, when she bakes the pitas in the taboon. Anyone wishing to receive breakfast in the dining room in their unit may do so. A Druze dinner is also served here that must be ordered in advance and is at extra charge.
Anat and Nasser will give advice about trips to the Yanuh-Jat village and the surrounding area, They suggest that the guests visit the ancient olive press in the village located in the ancient area and also accompany the guests if they wish and a suitable interaction is created.
The vacation in Anat and Nasser’s home is an opportunity experience authentic Druze hospitality and to get to know the Druze lifestyle and the welcoming hosts and their children.
Anyone looking for couscous will not find it here but anyone looking for a vacation with a small hop outside of the familiar box, a kind of small hop overseas without passport control, will definitely find it here.
