Amram Gabai- Stone and Iron Sculptures
Inside a small orchard, underneath his house in Kibbutz Cabri, Avrum (Amram) Gabai creates his iron and ceramic sculptures. The sculptures do not seem heavy; they are thin and their fragility is deceiving; as if they could spread their wings and fly. Avrum likes to sculpt thin-limbed human figures, goats, birds standing on one leg and lambs, each with its own individual personality yet all appearing to be in motion.

After completing 4 years of ceramics and pottery studies in Tel-Hi and at the Khan in Kiryat Shmonah, Avrum began selling his ceramic works through the Havaya chain. He exploits his love and affinity for nature and often incorporates pebbles and iron he collects from Dan to Eilat (throughout Israel).
“I invite vacationers and tourists to come view my artwork and enjoy the stone and iron sculptures standing inside and outside my studio”.
Avrum immigrated to Israel from Tangier at the age of 9 without his parents and arrived in Cabri with a group of children from all over the Diaspora. “Since I work with dangerous tools, I cannot hold a workshop, but I am perfectly happy to explain the nature of my work, demonstrate and proceed with my guests to the Gallery, nearby.”
Avrum emphasizes that even visitors who do not purchase any of his works will be treated to coffee and a pleasant visit to the studio.
