On a spacious terrace overlooking the scenery surrounding Hurfeish, Nahada Marai serves an abundance of Druze dishes prepared in her own private kitchen. During the meal her husband Sudaki Marai, a former teacher and Manager of the Education Department of Hurfeish, will tell you about the Druze community, the culture, the history and their customs.
In winter the terrace is covered over, they light the wood burner and the place has a feeling of warmth which combines well with the warm welcome that the guests receive from the Marai family.
To the table covered with red tablecloths the plentiful dishes are served one after the other from the authentic Druze kitchen. Nahada cooks for the guests exactly as she cooks in her private kitchen for her family.
Stuffed vine leaves and cabbage, mejadera, shulvato, maklouba, mansaf with meat, grilled kebab, various salads including seasonal salads and for dessert: kanafe, baklava, tea and coffee.
The place is kosher and has a kashrut certificate.
