At her private home, located in one of the alleys of the Old City of Acre (Akko), Samya welcomes her guests to homemade meals of traditional, cultural Acre food.

The guests are invited into one of the house’s rooms which is adorned by traditional items, and are seated around the dining table. Samya serves authentic Acre food, the table is loaded with fresh salads that are served according to the season: endive salad, mallow, spinach, meluhiye, Arab vegetables salad and more. Pita breads with hyssop or onions, fried kubbehand eggplant with tehina are served beside the salads.

The main courses include three selection options:

M’hammar, which is a chicken cooked in onion, potato and hot pepper.

Maklubahof chicken with vegetables (a vegetarian Maklubah is also available when ordered in advance).

Madfuna of fish and rice.

More on the menu: mujaddara, stuffed grape leaves, the local kishke (stuffed intestines)fawaregh, husrum which are sour grapes, in a salad.

Water and soft drinks are served throughout the meal.

And at the end: coffee, tea, homemade cake or jams.

Samya tells about herself and about the way of life of an Arab Christian woman.

The meal can be integrated within a cooking workshop: the guests accompany Samya to the local market, purchase the ingredients and goods then cook and eat the meal together.

This is a real authentic experience.

The price for a workshop is 60-90 NIS depending on whether the food is vegetarian or meat.

A two-hour activity of basket weaving can be also integrated, 40 NIS per person.

The meal prices:

A vegetarian meal: 80 NIS per person.

A meat meal: 130 NIS per person.

A fish meal: 140 NIS per person.

Must be booked in advance.
