As aforesaid, the trail begins at the Fort’s parking lot, from there it continues south to a convenient observation point that will help set things straight for the observers. Not far from the starting point stand the tombs of soldiers killed while protecting the Kibbutz during the struggle for the state in-the-making. We will descend to the stream and proceed walking leisurely shaded by the typical Mediterranean vegetation. After walking for about two km (as1.2 miles), meeting the Alum ravine on the way, we will join a paved road inside the settlement of Klil. After an additional 500 meters (as546 yards) inside the settlement we will reach the trail’s end at the parking lot by Klil’s offices. Travelers may continue walking to a point where the Yehiam stream meets the approach road to the settlement.
At this point, travelers will be picked up and shuttled back to the starting point at Yehiam. Incidentally, travelers whose partner prefers to transport the vehicle to the trail’s end-point and wait there, may be met by their own vehicles (don’t let your partner’s miserable expression affect you; it was his/her choice; the shuttle is always an option). Good Luck.
