הThe beautiful Mount Adir is covered with Mediterranean groves consisting of oak, Pistachia, arbutus and hawthorn trees. It is located near the Lebanese border and provides an extraordinary view of the mountains of Lebanon and Hermon and the battle sites of the Second Lebanon War, including: Maroun al-Ras and Bint Jbeil, whose houses descend upon the mountainside.

At the top of Mount Adir, initiated by the families of the fallen soldiers, an observation point was established in commemoration of their loved ones. The observation point, located at the heart of a nature reserve, is built as a wooden balcony overlooking the scenery. The names of the 121 soldiers killed during the Second Lebanon War are engraved on the transparent balcony rail, alongside explanations about the course of the war and maps of the area.

To reach the observation point, travelers must park their vehicles in the designated parking lot and climb on foot to a height of about 200 meters (~219 yards) following the signed trail. A short, 5 minute walk will bring hikers to the observation point.

Getting There: Drive on Northern Highway 899 towards Netua and Matat observation point; the mountain rises before your. At the entrance to the mountain turn left according to the signs.
