In Kibbutz Cabri Next to the sculpture garden of the sculptor Yechiel Shemi, inside a new hangar-looking construction, resides the central workshop that contains the professional etching presses. On the southern side of the workshop the wall opens to the view constituting a point of inspiration for workers and visitors alike. The other side of the workshop features two large galleries containing an extensive display of the works printed here, as well as an exhibition of paintings made by Uri Reisman, one of the greatest painters to have worked in Israel. The workshop is characterized by a high level of craftsmanship that is equal to that of the best etching workshops in the world.

The place is designed first and foremost for artists. Here they are provided with all the conditions required for creating richly colored works while using a combination of many different print techniques. The workshop contains the largest press in Israel, with a maximal format capability of 130X230cm, and of course all the necessary equipment: a wide selection of papers, an extensive aquatint box, large etching baths, a hot table and more. Complete photo etching facilities are also available at the workshop, and enable working in this technique as well.

The new, special structure, inaugurated in 2006, was donated by Dov (of blessed memory) and Rachel Gottesman, art collectors who are actively involved in the field of plastic art and Music in Israel and abroad. In addition to artists’ work, the workshop also provides classes in etching on various levels, a few times a year. The workshop welcomes visitors interested in observing the etching process and in viewing a large variety of the printed works, which are exhibited and may also be purchased.
