Shvil Hachalav (The Milky Way) – Rustic Accommodations

A large gate leads to the Lapid family farm grounds, at the heart of which stands a large cowshed. A drive along the fruit-yielding orchard, on the internal road circumventing the cowshed, leads to the guest room complex, located on the one hand not far from the cowshed and on the other hand far enough to avoid the aroma of manure and hay from impacting guests noses.

The atmosphere is pastoral and rural. Cow mooing, intoxicating smells of citrus tree blossoms, birds chirping, a tractor parked in the yard, big piles of hay – all these turn the vacation at “Shvil Hachalav” into an extraordinary, special experience, particularly for city residents.
Sigal Lapid, whose house is located near the farm’s entrance, at the far end of the Guest Room Complex, does her very best to ensure that her guests enjoy their stay on the farm. In order to lure them closer to the dairy farm and the experience of farm life, children and their parents are invited to the cowshed to experience milking and calf bottle-feeding first hand. Guests receive an explanation about the dairy farm, and are invited to pick and eat fruit from grapefruit, pomelo, lemon, tangerine, apple, plum, mango and banana trees, play on the basketball court or ride a bicycle on the internal safe trails of the gate-protected farm.
It seems that everything here is done lovingly for the children. Amidst the grove adjacent to the complex there is a large playground with slides, swings and a sand box. Coordinated in advance guests may participate in cheese manufacturing and bread baking in a Taboon (outdoor stove used chiefly for baking bread and pitta) workshops (for an additional fee).

The Guest Rooms are modest and well adapted for families with children. Some of the cabins have two bedrooms with a double bed and an additional folding bed, suitable for two children. Other cabins are set to accommodate children and parents in one room. Sigal will supply a crib, a bathtub and a high chair when needed.
The kitchenette is fully accessorized.
Each cabin has a balcony furnished with a table and chairs and even a fan, to help cool in summer.
The generous rustic breakfast, includes homemade cheeses and jams, freshly squeezed juice in season, different types of eggs and fresh bread, and is served in the dining room at guests’ convenience.
Since guest rooms are designed for families with children, breakfast also offers yoghurt treats that kids like, alongside chocolate milk and granola.
The dining room, located in a tent with transparent side-sheets, features a large refrigerator, a gas stove and cooking utensils, enabling families to cook on their own if they wish to. The dining room also features a sofa and a table for guests to enjoy as well as a library and games for children and adults.
