In the lighthouse’s square located at the Western Beach Promenade, overlooking the breathtaking view of the Mediterranean Sea and the Pisani Port, resides the Tour Operators’ House of the City of Acre (Akko).
The house previously belonged to the St. Andrew’s Church, the Municipality of Acre leased the place so that it serves as a home for the city’s residents, tourists and tourism entrepreneurs.
The house has been renovated from top to bottom and during the renovations Crusader and Ottoman walls, as well as painted floors were exposed.
The house’s windows are open toward the sea and it is inviting and beautiful. The house comprises an information and reservations station, a designed hall for receptions and diverse workshops held here.
The Tour Operators’ House is also used as a meeting and departure place for tours throughout Acre:
· An architectural tour.
· Markets and tasting tours.
· Culinary tours.
· Acre images – a classic tour that touches Acre’s present and past.
· A tour in the footprints of the religions in Acre.
· Selichot (forgiveness) tours before Yom Kippur.
· Ramadan nights that are held in the month of Ramadan.
The tours are accompanied by certified guides, residents of Acre and the Western Galilee.
