The heart warming tourism momentum that has recently been characterizing the alleyways of the Old City of Akko, beautiful accommodation units invite holiday makers to spend time in the ancient alleyways and offer a different and prestigious accommodation experience.
These units have been constructed by the entrepreneur Meir Davidson. The accommodation units are dispersed throughout the alleyways and award the guest a feeling that he is part of the goings on, that he is a temporary resident of those same ancient alleyways, living with the local residents. This is a type of accommodation which is very customary in towns and villages on the coast of Italy – you are invited to feel at home even though you are just a visitor.
The Akotika accommodation units are dispersed throughout the alleyways of the Old City, however are proximate to each other, and they are all served by a spacious lobby which includes a reception desk and a bar serving coffee, soft drinks and alcohol and seating areas. The lobby has two exits – one to the promenade and the second towards the alleyways. On the upper floor you will find Akotika’s glorious Mediterranean terrace, which overlooks the sea and the old city walls which surround it (not designed for children).
On the white painted roof blue chairs are dispersed, which integrate extraordinarily with the natural scenery of the sea and also orange armchairs, in honour of the amazing sunsets that the Mediterranean Sea offers during the twilight hours. The bar on the roof offers the guests soft drinks, alcohol and snacks (at extra charge) and for special orders special breakfasts and dinners are served here in the Akko style.
The Akotika guests are received personally by a host, are lead to the accommodation unit and receive a precise explanation about the suite in which they are staying and about the city of Akko with an abundance of recommendations about the attractions and restaurants in the city.
The suites are designed in the Mediterranean style characteristic of Akko, stone walls, vaulted ceilings, oriental elements, however are also different from each other: two of them are suitable for couples and one is a large family unit suitable also for two families or a group.
The Ottoman Suite
A beautiful suite, with curved stone walls and steps leading to a gallery in which you will find the open living quarters including a spacious double bed with white bed linen, with two sets of pillows, bedside tables and reading lamps. On the entrance level – a kitchenette accessorized with cooking hob, a Nespresso machine, tea and coffee and a refrigerator and for those guests who adhere to Jewish tradition a samovar, hot plate and Sabbath switch for use on the Sabbath.
Also on this level – a beautiful seating area, satellite TV (YES channels), a gas-fired fire, books, a dining table and chairs.
The bathroom is beautiful and includes a double shower with two monsoon shower heads, toilet products, bath robes, soft towels.
The Mediterranean roof, which serves all the guests of the suites, is located two levels above the Ottoman suite. The guests may serve themselves soft drinks and beers for a charge.
The Gallery
Is located 100 meters from the Ottoman Suite, in the Bahai Alley. On the first floor there is a living room with a television and a beautifully designed seating corner, a sideboard and mini-bar. Alike the Ottoman Suite here too there is a coffee machine and a kettle for preparation of coffee and tea. Stairs lead to the open sleeping floor, which has a spacious bed, white bed linen, two sets of pillows and a television set with a separate satellite converter from the one in the living room.
Here too there are toilet products in the bathroom, bath robes and monsoon shower head.
The Fishermen’s Apartment
Designed for one family, two families or a group. In order to reach it you will need to climb two flights of steps. The suite has three accommodation spaces – one for a couple, one designed for three and the third is designed for four guests.
There is a shared living romm for everyone and it has a seating corner and television.
The kitchen is accessorized with pots and pans and kitchen utensils and you are allowed to cook.
The unit has three bathrooms and two toilets, and the cherry on the cake is the roof terrace overlooking the sea with roof furniture and also a barbecue.
The Plaza Suite
Is situated on the Genoa Plaza and is spread over an area of 120 m2 and divided into two rooms with a shared living room.
On the upper floor of the suite is a gallery in the style of a loft designed for up to 4 children. The apartment is for a family and has two bedrooms, a shared living room, a balcony and an accessorized kitchen.
The Vaulted Suites
Two beautifully and meticulously designed suites while ensuring excellent detailing both big and small.
The suites share a lobby with includes a hewn wading pool.
The Upper Floor Suites
In order to reach the five beautiful suites on the upper floor you will climb 48 steps however the climb is well worth it. Two of the amazingly beautiful suites face the sea and the view is breathtaking.
The design is meticulous and integrates maximum comfort and indulgence while maintaining the original elements that have been perfectly reconstructed including the decorations on the original and special windows.
Three of the suites do not face the sea however they are intimate in their design and provide a feeling of tranquillity.
The five suites have a shared roof which has a gazebo and sun beds.
All the suites have free wi-fi internet.
Breakfast may be ordered in advance for additional charge.
